The Eastern Tailed-Blue is a small butterfly of the Lycaenidae family. The wings are gray overall with black spots. The hind wings are marked with orange patches.
The hind wings are tailed, or small black and white projections are attached to the hind wings. The projections mimic its head, which avert the attention of the predators.
